Have you ever ruined the ending or given away plot developments in a book, movie, or tv show by telling someone who hasn't seen or read it what happens? Has anyone ever done this to you?

Your Result: You attract unstable people!

Congrats, you are an 'insane' magnet, and you probably have no idea why. Something about your mix of styles, how you walk not just 'one' lifestyle, but appear to have a foot in them all. To the insane, you appear to be a beacon of hope and they will flock to you, like it or not. But, they ARE insane. Lucky for you, the insane tend to be the best sexual lovers, just the rest of the package deal may not be for you.

You attract artsy people!
You attract geeks!
You attract Yuppies!
You attract models!

Oct. 30th, 2006 @ 09:05 pm Remember when I said my next proper entry would be from Doha or HK? I lied ^_^
Even though it's a meme I consider this as a proper entry as Mel's questions are quite interesting ^_^
Feel free to ask more random questions btw :o

1)Imagine that you are employed by the court and it is your job to decide whether people are innocent or guilty of a crime. The only tool that you have to help you decide is a very advanced computer. This computer has analysed all the information available and it's only output is a ticket that gives the probability that the suspect has committed the crime. You do not have any information relating to the crimes, you only have the probability that the suspects are guilty. If you refuse, it will be assumed that all suspects are guilty and hence they will all be sentenced. At what percentage (of probabilty that someone is guilty) would you convict?

This is a good question. It kinda reminds me of Minority Report even though it's not exactly the same thing. That reminds me I need to get's some Philip K. Dick books before I leave. Anyway, to answer your question I *think* I'd convict people only when the percentage is 100%. I don't know if that's silly or not but I've got faith in Humanity and I do believe anyone deserves to be treated as innocent until proven guilty. Which must be why I can be so patient and forgiving towards people even when everyone else has given up on them. I tend to see people as innocent until I've seen solid facts proving that they're not. And even then I try to understand their motives and I believe redemption is always possible unless that person is totally mentally inapt. Anyway, I get carried away: if someone has a 1% chance of being innocent then fuck what the computer said -except maybe if that computer knows the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything... ;)- because you can't be 99% guilty, either you are or you're not. And if you're not then the system is wrong. Just like innocent people got executed in the past (and still today actually) because some people believe(d) these innocents were/are a small loss compared to all the real murderers convicted and executed.
Anyway, I do realise that convicting people only when you're 100% sure they're guilty would cause some problem as sometime guilty people wouldn't get convicted but I think that would be the price to pay in a Society stupid enough to rely on a single computer. A computer that could be hacked easily or could be called HAL for all I know, that's quite scary to be honest ^^;; So yeah, hope computers won't get to decide who's guilty and who isn't in my lifetime ^_^

2)If you met your 14 year old self, what would you think of each other?

I'm not sure. I think we'd feel kinda sorry for each other. I might not have picked that answer if it had been my 15 year old self or 16 year old self but I remember my life was definitely not happy 10 years ago. Though at least my 14 year old self was still allowed to hope there might be a better tomorrow. Don't think my soon to be 24 old self could honestly think that. Of course a lot of things have changed in my life, some definitely for the best but some for the worse as well. Also there are some aspects of real life my 24 year old self would rather not know about. Ignorance is bliss as they say.
I think my 14 year old self would definitely envy my 24 year old self seeing as I've gained freedom and I've gained in confidence throughout the years (and I've lost like 10kgs and stuff) but my 24 year old self would envy the other one's dreams and innocence. There are some things you're allowed to believe in when you're a kid but once you get older you have to realise they can never be. Or maybe my 14 year old self would remind me I should never give up on these things and maybe she would do her best to convince me my current outlook on life is way too cynical. Anyway, I wish I could meet my 34 year old self, she'd probably have more happy things to teach me. My only hope right now is that her life will be better than the one I had 10 years ago and the one I have now.
... I win at self pity, right? ^_^;;

3)What's the best compliment anyone has ever paid you?

Hmmmm I'm not sure. I think it must have been when someone said I had made their life better and/or I had helped them evolving. Lots of people have paid me compliments on what I looked like or on the fact that they thought I was intelligent/nice/whatever, to me these don't really count much. Of course they help building confidence or boosting one's ego but personally I believe what you are doesn't matter that much, what you do is what really matters (OMG noes I've just realised I almost quoted Christian Bale in Batman Begins there XD Just looked it up on imdb, apparently Rachel says "Deep down you may still be that same great kid you used to be. But it's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you" and later Batman says "It's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me". Anyway, yeah, I agree.), because at the end of the day I believe the only way to all live happily ever after is to do our best to improve each other's lives. So yeah, if someone is at least a little bit conscious of the fact I might have gone out of my way to make their life better I guess it means my efforts weren't completely wasted ^_^

4)If you had to ask someone one question to try to find out what they were like, what would it be?

Is the cat alive or dead?

5)What are your two favourite colours?

Depends, as in clothes' colours or in general? That's a tough question to be honest because I love all secondary colours. My favourite primary colour is blue so I guess you could say it's my fav colour. All different shades of blue look beautiful in my opinion. If you look at the sea or at the sky you'll see magnificent colours almost wherever you are.
Other than that I like purple quite a lot, but mostly because it contains blue I suppose. Just like I like green because it comes from blue. And normally the higher the proportion of blue is the more I like that purple or that green. So I guess the second colour I love that really isn't based on blue at all is orange (way to point out the obvious XD). Again, orange is beautiful when you find it in the sky when the sun rises or sets and it's gorgeous when you find it somewhere under the sea (fishies, plants, etc.). And fire can look beautiful too ^_^ So ya, in Nature blue and orange all the way. As for clothes I tend to wear purple and green quite a lot but it's just because wearing only blue or black stuff would get boring quite quickly :/

Went to Strasbourg on thursday afternoon, arrived around 9pm, met Lang and a lovely new friend of hers called Liang at the station, spent a few hours visiting Strasbourg -which is by far the loveliest little city I've been to in forever-, went to Lang's, had some lovely instant noodles, got ready for bed, went to bed (sharing a tiny single bed with another girl for fun).

Friday: Went to uni with Lang, went to a conference with her, Liang and loads of architecture/design students, spent the whole morning there because it was great and super interesting, went to the city center for lunch, visited a few places, bought some stuff, spent hours enjoying a lovely cappuccino, visited the place a bit more (it's tiny so I had seen almost everything by now and knew the city center all by heart), went to the cathedral and spent a long time there, went outside and spent time with Greg on the phone, went back to uni, bumped into Liang on the way there, met up with Lang a bit later, went to have dinner with them (cheap student food for fun), went to Liang's, spent hours chatting, went back to Lang's, got ready for the next day.

Saturday: Helped Lang carrying heavy suitcases probably loaded with anvils and dead people, got on the Strasbourg-Nancy-Paris train with her, spent an hour chatting and practicing my unleet Mandarin skills, got off the train, met with Brigitte, started visiting Nancy, noticed I had left my brand new coat in Lang's apartment, had breakfast, spent hours chatting/being lazy, met Brigitte's friend Laurine, went to the city center to visit the place a bit more, went shopping (didn't buy anything myself though), got tired -even too tired to eat any sweeties 0_o-, went back to Brigitte's, had a nap, had coffee time/tea time, spent more time chatting, watched tv, said bye to Laurine, spend more time chatting, had "apéro", got slightly drunk, had pizza, watched more bad tv, spend more time chatting about random stuff, went to bed (double bed this time, more comfy ^_^).

Sunday: Got up, had breakfast, got ready to go out, went to the market with Brigitte, got given beautiful purple earrings, went back to Brigitte's, had lunch, watched something about Halifax being blown up in December 1917 because of some retarded french people, went back out, visited more places near Nancy's center, helped Brigitte pick some English books to improve her unleet language skills, went back to her place, had dinner, watched bad tv, went to bed.

Monday: Got ready to go, went to the station, got back to Paris, enjoyed the weather, got back to my brother's, found out I had received my plane tickets (HK and Shanghai get's! :D), had a yummy lunch, checked emails, chatted with Huang (Liang's friend, studying French in Shanghai), about to go out to enjoy the awesome weather a bit more and to go to my Bank to sort out a couple of things, planning to either go to my awesome local cinema to watch Memoirs of a Geisha or go to Paris XII to an unknown cinema to watch Scoop.

Next proper entry when I'm in HK or when I'm bored between my flights if I can't get any sleep in Doha's airport. Bye bye people, take care.

Had a really nice evening last night with Caroline, Sarah, their boyfriends, tons of other people and a nice really good looking blond guy with blue eyes whose name I can't remember because it was weird. Would have been a nice shag but I didn't fancy spending the whole night out with him as I knew Yuko and Ismaël would be kinda worried if I didn't come back 'home', I think there's something wrong with me ^^; He was clearly disappointed when I left as well :/

Anyway, going to Strasbourg in a couple of hours, gonna spend some time with Lang then going to Nancy to see Brigitte on saturday evening.
Part of me hope I'm gonna bump into Mathieu (aka old summer love, hawt half-blood viet guy) in Strasbourg but part of me think it would be supAr weird to see him after all that time XD And what are the odds anyway (could use my stalker skills but no :p)?

So ya, have a nice week-end, I should be back on the intarweb on monday or tuesday. Then off to HK on sunday if everything goes as planned (and they'd better do as I've got my hotel booked and everything :/). Wanted to go on saturday but the flight I wanted got all booked before I could get's a ticket :/

Still have a few things left to do before I go but it should be fine, plenty of time to sort everything out I think. ^_^
Anyways, time to get ready, bye bye people ^0^

Went to watch Le Temps qui Reste yesterday and I have to say I really liked it. If you like François Ozon I think you should definitely enjoy it, and if you have absolutely no idea who I'm talking about I still think most of you would like this film as it's less 'weird' than his other stuff I'd say. Also if you like pretty gay boys you definitely shouldn't miss it (tbh I had no idea this film was about gay boys but I certainly didn't mind :p). And if you're at this stage of your life where you're finished with education and now have a stable(-ish) position yet haven't really started doing anything with your life I think you can definitely relate to the protagonist.

Which reminds me, Les poupées Russes is also an awesome film that some of you should watch (after watching L'Auberge Espagnole obviously).

A couple of trailers for you now, because I'm too nice ^_^

Once upon a time back when I was living in Lille I was walking in a quiet street when a car stopped next me and the guy driving it asked me "how much?"... I thought it would be difficult to do something creepier than that but I think what happened tonight right before I came back to my brother's was even scarier T_T
I was waiting for the light to turn green to cross the road when a guy at least in his mid-30s crept up behind me and whispered "I love you" in my ear. I moved away from him and he then asked me if I gave blowjobs @_@ I was tempted to reply "Do you? :D" but just said nothing and moved away from him , I wasn't even on the pavement anymore but he kept following me T_T (as in, he was less than 20cm away from me and trying to move closer still T_T) As I couldn't get any further from him (the light was still red and there were lots of cars :/) I finally told him to fuck off (in English, as I was kinda panicking I forgot I was in France XD) and walked away as fast as possible when the light turned green. Not sure what he said after that but I think me yelling at him in English kinda confused him :D

Anyway, that's scary when something like that happens like 50m away from the place where you're staying T_T

Hmmm, accomodation is more expensive in HK but flying to Seoul is more expensive, and flying to Tokyo obviously isn't cheap either... I can't make up my mind D:

Maybe I should do what my mum suggested and just take the Trans-Siberian to Vladivostok and fly to Shanghai from there ^^;;

...Just found out Yuko is delaying her trip to Japan, she's thinking of going in February now.

But I still want to go on holiday somewhere in Asia NAAH, my course starts in a month and there's no fucking way I'm gonna waste all that time here doing nothing.

Though I'm not sure about Japan anymore, going there without her wouldn't be as good and I probably couldn't afford to stay in Tokyo for 2 weeks + anyway :/ Except maybe if I use the internet café trick? :p
Anyway, I'm now thinking of going to South Korea or Hong-Kong instead :o Not sure what would be the cheapest and/or most interesting option though :/ But I want to go somewhere that's not too far from Shanghai so I can take my plane on sunday (19/11) morning and have plenty of time to go to my apartment and stuff... :o

So, what do you think people, should I go to JapFagLand, NinjaTerminatorLand or CrazyMMORPGPlayersLand?? I'm planning to go for at least a week, hopefully more if I can afford it...

Anyway, other than that I'm going to Paris in a couple of days (got all the papers I needed to apply for a visa now) and then to Strasbourg to see my dear friend Lang. And then I don't know. :/

Oh and hopefully I should get my new laptop AC adapter on monday or tuesday, yay :D

The first five people to respond to this post, will get some form of art, by me, for/about them. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort and that the art will be individual to you, so if you get a mixed CD or some sort of painting doodle, yours is the only one like it.

The format may vary greatly. It could be a cd, something knit, something stamped, something cooked, something baked, or something else random.

The only catch, of course; as with most memes, if you sign up, you have to put this in your own journal as well.

Got plenty of free time until I go back to Paris so why not ^_^
